When someone’s behavior is not compliant with the law, or they are acting in a way that threatens safe and secure incarceration or is contradictory to decency, honesty and so on, disciplining is necessary for everyone’s safety and well-being to quote Peter Garrett who has written articles for Around Corrections, the Official Newsletter of the Virginia Department of Corrections. Note We are NOT talking about Prisoners here but prison officials and guards. The following letter from Prisoner Israel Cooper shared by Mr. Shaheed Omar exposes Virginia's highly dysfunctional Correctional system where the Virginia Department of Corrections claim disciplining is relatively rarely needed in the Department. Could it be they allow said prison guards to unlawfully mistreat prisoners?

Hello I would like to let you know that these officers are still getting away with their abuse of power. Israel has filed a civil case against the same C/O Collins who turned around and transferred him out and kept all his belongings including his legal court papers. Warden Kiser has allowed the defendant to have access to the victim Cooper and even sent a file over to MCI Cedar Junction stating false charges to get him assaulted and maybe even killed. He has now received threats in the new location and two C/Os refused to give him a coat and a blanket. They also refused to feed him a couple of days ago he was left without being able to brush his teeth or shower for a week. He says it is so cold he can see smoke coming from his mouth. I called MCI Cedar and was told its impossible the officers wouldnt do that because there are cameras. Well they should look at the cameras and get these officers straightened out. Collins has openly lied and even the marshalls transporting Cooper saw he lied about the tattoos he claimed Cooper had and did not. He is a criminal in a uniform and needs to be stopped and all others who have assisted in all the attacks against Cooper and others.
