Let me begin by saying, that there are those who profess and claim to want prison reform in Virginia in all aspects, then they turn right around and undermine its efforts. Whether the sabotage is conscious or not is besides the point, because the results are the same. Undermining the efforts and work of wrangling a system to respect its own formulations, which is reform, has myriad expressions and variegated forms and again it makes no difference if it is conscious and diabolical or due to the consequences of ignorance, the results are the same regardless of immediacy, because impunity and its contradictions confronts only one objective, its resolve and excise. The work of being anti the mess of Virginia's Social Contract, as it is currently exposed in the hapless circumstance of its Prison System, is as historic as the existence of Virginia, firstly as an entity of commercial investment and speculation, then the subsequent exploitation. At each turn the dynamic of reform or to distill it to its irreducible function, the realization that, recognizing that terms and relations of the Social Contract is a human person with dictatorial agency objectified as terms of approximate value exchange, has as a ever present Caduceus, Siamese twin like been there. To what extent this recognition of the human person has been perfected isn't a reflection of its value, hell how many Virginians died during the Civil War in its opposition, yet here we are in the Virginia of the 21st Century, with gleaming tombstones marking the then and now of Lee's surrender on April 9,1865 at Appomattox to Grant and this, see this case: VA. STATE CONF. NAACP v. CNTY.SCH.BD.OF SHENANDOAH CNTY., 2025 U.S.DIST.LEXIS 11726 exists as a damn continuum of one of the worst slaughter of human beings ever under a banner that some humans were less, which is the exact and identical philosophy pursued by the Virginia Department of Corrections in its practice of dehumanizing the Virginia prisoner and maintained in its incorrigible opposition to reform, a practical mockery of those lives lost compelling and dictating Lee's surrender, a mockery that is nothing less than a dehumanization which isn't irony in its manifestation against the Virginia prisoner, but defiant speech of incorrigibility. I've developed the point of what this moment of Governor Abigail Spanberger's Administration presents, with firstly, prison reform in Virginia isn't apart from or besides that confrontation with certain fundamental facts that either educate and enlighten or engulf us in that bliss of ignorance which regardless of which denies that dehumanizing narrative of the Virginia Department of Corrections in its pursuit of its self-interest. Secondly, Dehumanization isn't a unilateral existence, it requires and is a reflection of a relationship The issue isn't complicity, tacit cooperation or compulsion but how is it opposed. The state, condition and circumstance of the Virginia prisoner isn't simply and only confined to the concertina and fenced enclosures of Virginia's prisons, but it extends or I should accurately and correctly put it as a symbiotic existence with all that is Virginia. What I'm saying is, let's take for example the neglect and deprivation of medical care to the prisoner, despite the fact that the prisoner is directly harmed by the deprivation and neglect, what do you think is happening to the medical and health care professional who is now corrupted due to their violation of their Hippocratic Oath and doesn't the ensuing corruption taint and makes toxic the healthcare professional as a social person.
